Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the information shown in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (called a hash) may be shared with the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. You can review the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public alongside your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the site, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site are able to download and extract location data from any images posted here.
Cookies
If you leave a comment, you can opt in to having your name, email address, and website saved in a cookie. This is purely for your convenience, so you don’t have to re-enter your details the next time you comment. These cookies last for one year.
Visiting our login page sets a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and disappears once you close your browser.
Logging in also sets a few cookies to save your login details and screen display preferences. Login cookies last two days, and screen option cookies last a year. Choosing “Remember Me” extends your login for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
Editing or publishing an article saves an additional cookie in your browser. It holds no personal data, just the post ID of the article you edited, and expires after one day.

If you have an account here, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including anything you’ve submitted to us.
